Ogre update

I've done some line highlights on the black plates with Dark Reaper and picked out a few created on the trousers with Skavenblight Dinge. Next step will be the shades.

Blood Bowl Ogre/Human Helmet Conversion

I've finally managed to get some base colours down on my Blood Bowl Ogre.

For this guy I'm going for a back and white scheme as I'm intending to use him in multiple different teams so I figured keeping it simple was a good idea. This picture shows just the base colours. I'm hoping to jet some more work done on him today.

I decided pretty quickly that I wasn't a fan of the wings on the Human team so I've gotten rid of those (I hope you can see that in this picture?) This will be more of a long term deal though. I've actually got every plastic team sitting in boxes ready to build!

Did I mention Blood Bowl is my all time favourite game?

What's that smell?

As models in 'starter sets' go, the Foetid Bloat-Drone has to be right up there with the best.

I absolutely love this guy! He's been pretty decent on the battlefield for me (one of my few units that have!) and was a blast to paint. I particularly enjoyed doing the eye lense and the line highlights on the flesh.

Also, not sure if you can make it out well on the picture here but I enjoyed trying out the verdigris effect on the bronze.

Malignant Placuecaster

Here's the third Character I've painted for my Death Guard.

I'm not entirely sure I like this mini, or the job I've done on it. I'm kind of creeped out by the face (I guess that's the idea!?) And I feel I could have done the "cloud" better but he looks good on the tabletop with the rest of the gang. I am really pleased with the bone colouring though.

Noxious Blightbringer

The second of my Death Guard characters and one I enjoyed painting.

This was the first miniature I tried the rust effect on the bell he's holding in his left hand and dabbled a little bit with some osl with the plasma coils.

I think my favourite part of the mini is the red cloth as I found that fun to paint.

Welcome!

Hi everybody!

And Happy New Year! As part of my new years hobby resolution, I'm going to try and get back into blogging. I've had a couple of efforts before and something has always gotten in the way. This time I'm going for a slightly different approach: rather than  restrict myself to certain topics or game systems I think I'm just going to post up whatever I feel like. So in that frame of mind, here's my last completed mini of 2017.

I absolutely love the Death Guard miniatures and this guy is probably my favourite, with the Drone a close second. I've now painted all of the Nurgle half of Dark Imperium. Over the next couple of days I'll be posting up the rest of the gang.

Also, I'm intending to take part in a "hobby bingo" kind of thing as well as the following "quests" if you will.

1.) Paint more than last year.

2.) Play more than last year.

3.) Have more fun!

I've tried to keep my quests pretty vague on purpose. But within those three I'll be adding in specific aims.

Anyone else have any plans for 2018?
